Big Country Master Gardener’s Association is a group of local residents who love to learn and teach others about all things gardening. We support and assist our local TexasAgriLife Extension service by providing the Big Country community with information on good gardening practices through education programs, news articles, media, presentations made to are organizations, and through our responses to Ask a Master Gardener over the phone and internet.
Abilene and surrounding areas offer unique challenges with our soil, precipitation, wind, and sun. Our BCMGA chapter is made up of both experienced and novice gardeners, all of whom want to share what they have to offer with the public to benefit our community.
If you’d like to know more about becoming a Master Gardener, please check out more of our website. Watch our calendar for our annual Spring Plant Sale, as well as educational programs and projects we lead. We would love to have you join us!
The Big Country Master Gardeners are bringing back the Fall Plant Sale on October 13th from 8 AM - 12 PM! In most instances, Fall is the very best time to plant perennials, trees, and shrubs, giving them a chance to settle in and get established! We’ll have some great plants to choose from - we hope to see you there!
