The Sale Committee and leadership of the Taylor County Livestock Show Association is proud to invite the community out for the 2023 Taylor County Livestock Show Sale of Champions!
The Sale will kick off Saturday, January 21 at 5:30 p.m. with a dinner at the Capital Farm Credit Display Building.
The Grand Champion Steer will be the first entry that will walk into sale ring followed by the students that exhibited more than 100 of the top placing animals from this year’s Livestock Show.
The Sale of Champions is an opportunity for businesses and community members to support the youth livestock exhibitors of Taylor County. Buyers will bid to “purchase” the livestock while others will add-on to the purchase of the animals. Floor prices are placed on the animals to guarantee that the student receives proper compensation for their efforts, but there is no minimum or maximum set for add-ons. The benefit of a premium auction for these local exhibitors is that they can continue down the road and compete at the five Spring Texas Major Stock Shows where they have additional opportunities for scholarships and more life experiences.
These young people, FFA or 4-H members ranging from third grade to high school seniors, have learned many important life lessons while raising, training, and caring for their livestock projects. The funds received from the sale help these students take the knowledge and skills acquired through their projects and apply it towards their future education and career goals.
